The Inauguration of Soochna Seva Hub center in Chandoli

Digital Empowerment Foundation inaugurated its first Soochna Seva center in Alwar, Rajasthan on 18th April 2017. The center was inaugurated by Krishan lal Dhawadiya (Principal), Chandoli senior secondary school and Israil Khan, Ex-Sarpanch, Chandoli panchayat.
The Soochna Seva center is a joint initiative of DEF and Qualcomm and offers one-of-its-kind government schemes services. The center will function as a hub center with a dynamic service umbrella of digital services, schemes entitlements and employment opportunities suitable for the community members, especially for youth. The impetus behind the center is to connect the marginalized section of society to the public welfare schemes and entitlements and improve their living standard. The center is well equipped with the digital literacy tools & technology for villagers to enjoy the privileges of studying about computers and internet at their doorstep.
Seldom does it happen that rural population is delivered basic amenities and facilities to them as their urban cousins. This puts rural life a world away. The center is designed to be a one-stop solution for such communities living in the information dark areas. In principal, the center will provide first-hand information about government programs and including the facility to obtain aadhar card, ration card, death & birth certificate and more identity documents. The SoochnaPreneur team which is responsible for running the center comprises of youth residing in Chandoli. The center in many ways gives them the rare opportunity to get out of that cycle of unemployment and poverty.
Total 150 prominent community members were present during the inauguration including Hardeep kaur from IBTADA. IBTADA is a local NGO in Alwar working for women empowerment in the area.
