Digital Empowerment Foundation has been recognised as a winner of the Blackstone Gives Back Challenge, receiving the 1st Prize Award of USD 175,000 to further strengthen community empowerment initiatives.
This recognition will support DEF’s SoochnaPreneur Project, enabling the creation and nurturing of 15 SoochnaPreneurs across Geographical Indication (GI) locations. Through this initiative, local changemakers will be equipped with digital tools, information services, and entrepreneurial skills to empower artisans, producers, and underserved communities linked to GI ecosystems.
The award is a testament to the impact of community-led digital models and reinforces DEF’s commitment to building inclusive, hyperlocal digital economies that create sustainable livelihoods and meaningful access to information.
